Although I understand that software quality is an issue, I would love to see the ability for third-party developers to write applications for the iPhone. While a free-for-all may not be in Apple’s best interest, it would be good to see a certified developers program. This would ensure quality as well as open the potential for many more interesting and useful iPhone apps. Some of the apps that I would like to see are a full-featured RSS reader as well as a ssh client.

Macmeter is an Apple/Mac focused social-news website that allows its member
community to submit and PowerUP the hottest industry news.

How it works:

  1. Users submit ideas for new Apple features, products, or concepts.
  2. The Macmeter community discusses and votes to determine which ideas are most desired.
  3. Popular ideas rise to the top and provide a centralized place for Apple, Inc. to take notice.
  4. Steve, are you listening?

Macmeter Ideas is user/community initiated market research. It is based on the IdeaStorm concept from Dell with inspiration from Digg and Reddit. For the record, Macmeter.com is operated by an Apple enthusiast (with a day job) and is not affiliated with Apple.
